Shrewsbury Food Bank organises and distributes parcels of donated food, toiletries, cleaning products and household items to individuals and families every week.
We work alongside our local statutory services, health professionals, educational leads and housing associations as well as local government who refer into Shrewsbury Foodbank.
We aim to help those that find themselves in times of real hardship or financial crisis by providing food for the whole household along with other general household items, pet food, baby items, cleaning products and toiletries bespoke for each household.
We will discuss with each client their individual requirements. On each visit we will provide three meals a day for a full week along with the other items required for the particular household.
Through foodbank PLUS, Shrewsbury Foodbank is now able to help people beyond the short term fix and empower them to face a more positive future.
Shrewsbury Foodbank is located at Barnabas Church Centre, SY3 7DN.
There are many varied situations that bring people along to the food bank, Sometimes it’s a combination of many issues, but we aim to support people whatever their circumstances, once they have been referred to us.

Referral Process
Our clients are referred to us by an agency, statutory service or someone supporting them in an offical capacity. If you are an agency and have clients that you believe need to use the food bank you may refer clients through the website on our referrals page.
We work with lots of professional organisations who refer clients to us. All clients attending food bank must have a referral.
If you need a referral, you can contact, for example, your housing association, GP, support worker or school, and if none of these apply, the Local Support and Prevention Team on 0345 678 9078.
We are only able to give food parcels when a client is referred and provision is at the discretion of the food bank.
